Genero Mobile for Android

Genero Mobile for Androidâ„¢ (GMA) is the Genero Mobile development client and runtime (Dynamic Virtual Machine, or DVM) that sits on the Android device or emulator.

If you are configured to display to an Android emulator or device, when you run an app from Genero Studio in developer mode, the app displays in the Genero Mobile client installed on the emulator or device. You do not need to launch the client prior to starting the app.

If, however, you tap on the GMA icon in the Apps listing, you are taken to the front page of the GMA app.

At the top of the page, you are given the IP address and the port number where the Genero Mobile client is waiting for an incoming Genero virtual machine (VM). You do not need to place GMA in listen mode. when you execute an app using Genero Studio, it will find and connect to the GMA, given the configuration is correct. When working with a physical device, you can use the page displayed to identify the IP address and port number where the Genero Mobile client is waiting for the connection from the app. This information may be useful when configuring to display to an Android physical device. When working with an Android emulator, you can safely ignore the message that is displayed.
